President Donald Trump’s personal attorney appeared before the Michigan House Oversight Committee last night, and called the state’s recent election a “con job.”
In a very unusual format, Rudolph Giuliani was allowed to treat the hearing as a court proceeding for four hours, calling witnesses, and questioning them himself.
Lawmakers on the committee, who usually ask the questions, were restricted. None spoke up when Giuliani questioned the value of the members of the state board of canvassers.
Giuliani introduced no new evidence of fraud, and brought no witnesses that have not already been discredited in a number of failed court actions.
He did rehash a number of claims that have been debunked.
He also alleged that Detroit, alone, produced as many as 700,000 corrupt ballots. Only 256,514 votes were actually tabulated in Detroit.
Democrats on the committee wanted to have Giuliani testify under oath, but Republicans prevented it.
