A memorial service is set for this afternoon for a state lawmaker who died in a motorcycle accident earlier this week.
The 3 p.m. service for Presque Isle Republican State Representative Peter Pettalia will take place at the Presque Isle Lighthouse as part of a celebration of life that is scheduled from noon until 5 p.m.
Pettalia’s motorcycle hit a truck that turned in front of him in Montmorency County Monday evening.
In addition to the memorial service, Governor Snyder has ordered flags at the State Capitol to be lowered to half-staff.
Pettalia had a wife, two grown children and two granddaughters.
