Four Arrested In Lake Linden Heroin Bust

Four people are in custody following a drug bust in Houghton County

Detectives from the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team conducted an investigation that led to the arrest Thursday of the four suspects related to the delivery of heroin and firearm violations.

Over the past several weeks, UPSET Detectives have been investigating various individuals for the sale of heroin in Houghton County.

Police says three suspects from Detroit were identified as those involved with these drug sales.

Based on their investigation, a search warrant was obtained for a residence on Calumet Street in Lake Linden where the suspects were temporarily residing.

During the search by UPSET Detectives and members of the Michigan State Police Emergency Support Team, a small amount of heroin, cash from suspected drug sales and a loaded shotgun were seized.

Two suspects were arrested for delivery of heroin, a third was arrested for loitering in a drug house and the fourth for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

They have been lodged in the Houghton County Jail.   The investigation remains ongoing.  The names of the suspects are not being released at this time.

UPSET was assisted by Lake Linden Village Police, Houghton County Sheriff’s Department, the Michigan State Police Emergency Support Team, Michigan State Police K-9 team, Michigan State Police Hometown Security Team, and troopers from the Calumet Post.
