Forest Industry Hits Economic Goal

They are loggers, truck drivers and furniture makers and they have contributed billions of dollars to the state’s economy.

Governor Snyder announced Wednesday Michigan’s forest products industry has reached its goal of contributing $20-billion per year to the economy.

The goal was to reach that mark by 2018.

Nearly 100,000 jobs are tied to the forest products industry.
