Federal Emergency Period Almost Over For Flint

The expiration date of the federal emergency declaration over the lead-tainted water crisis in Flint is quickly approaching.

State and federal officials are reassuring city residents that there is a continued effort to make sure residents have clean drinking water. EPA Acting Regional Administrator Bob Kaplan..

After August 14th, the state of Michigan will be responsible for 100 percent of the total cost of water supply purchases.

Bottled water, filters, and lead-testing kits will continue to be available to residents.
