Federal Court Denies Another Legal Challenge to Michigan’s Vote

Yet another legal attempt to throw out Michigan’s November election results has been thrown out of court.

Yesterday, US District Judge James Boasberg denied a request for a preliminary injunction in the case of Wisconsin Voters Alliance et.al. v Vice President Michael R Pence et.al. A group of Michigan voters is included among the plaintiffs.

The suit asked that the results in five states, including Michigan, be invalidated, and that Congress be prevented from certifying those states’ electors.

Boasberg castigated the plaintiffs for making no effort to serve notice of the suit on the defendants, even after they had been directed to do so by the court.

He wrote that called into question whether the suit was serious, or just a PR gimmick… quote… “Courts are not instruments through which parties engage in such gamesmanship or symbolic political gestures. As a result, at the conclusion of this litigation, the Court will determine whether to issue an order to show cause why this matter should not be referred to its Committee on Grievances for potential discipline of Plaintiffs’ counsel.”
