The application window is now open for the next Michigan Department of Natural Resources conservation officer academy.
Conservation officers are certified police officers with authority to enforce all of Michigan’s laws. They focus on laws related to fish and wildlife, state parks, trails and forests, and outdoor recreation activities.
They also serve as first responders in cases of injured or missing people in the wild.
The academy doesn’t start until next July, but there are several steps in the qualification process. The application deadline is the end of the year. To learn more, or get started, click here.
