Displaced Residents Wait For News On Returning Home

Some residents of an apartment building in Marquette damaged by fire earlier this week are still waiting to hear when they can return home.

The Pine Ridge Apartments had to be evacuated Tuesday as emergency crews put out a fire in the upper levels of the nine-story building.

The Salvation Army and the Red Cross are currently working together to assist the occupants with food, water, and temporary housing.

Northern Michigan University is currently using the Superior Dome to house some of the residents.

Other organizations also helped with bringing supplies for victims of the fire as well.

UPAWS brought food, water and other resources for pets that were affected in the fire.

Officials will be going through the apartment complex again and determining what needs to be done before the occupants can return.
