Governor Rick Snyder says a lack of investment on infrastructure is a national issue as well as a Michigan issue.
A commission he appointed after the Flint Water Crisis recommends a $4 billion a year investment in the states’ roads, water and power and communication systems.
Snyder says it’s not so much about more money into the system, but also managing it better.
Snyder says the commission provided a 30 to 50 year “roadmap” on what needs to be done, but he says the funding will have to come from a variety of public and private sources.
