As temperatures go down, calls for roadside emergency service go up.
AAA Michigan says they responded to twice as many calls across Michigan compared to last month–mostly dead batteries resulting from cold snaps like this.
As you deal with the wrath of Jack Frost, AAA Michigan says make sure your car can handle the elements, and make sure the battery and charging system are good to go and keep at least a half-tank of gas to avoid fuel line freeze-up.
And if you can’t park in a garage, place a tarp over the hood or park it from prevailing winds to give the battery a break from the cold.
