Bill Seeks To Increase Number Of Organ Donors

Legislation to increase organ donations is headed to the governor’s desk.

Known as Lauren’s Law, the bill would require individuals applying for or renewing a driver’s license to select whether or not they want to be added to the Michigan anatomical gift donor registry.

State Senator John Proos of southwest Michigan says 90-percent of Americans support organ donation, but only 30-percent of adults have signed up as donors.
