Bill Would Allow Schools To Begin Before Labor Day

Legislation that would change the school year start time has been introduced in the state Senate.

Republican Marty Knollenberg says Bill 217 keeps tourism in mind.

He says four-day weekends leading up to the Labor Day weekend are economically beneficial.

His biggest concern is that power remain on the local level, rather than the state.
