Bill Alllowing You To Warm Your Car In Your Driveway Heads To House

A bill heading to the house for consideration would let people heat up their cars in their own private drive-ways with out getting fined.

The current law can result in a civil infraction.

Republican state representative Holly Hughes is the sponsor of the legislation.

She says drivers are still recommended to take measures to secure their vehicle regardless of where it is parked.

Hughes says her bill also ensures this change would not modify any obligation of an auto insurer arising from the theft of an automobile.
