Former Vice President Joe Biden is again widening his lead over Donald Trump in the presidential race in Michigan.
A poll taken over the weekend by the Glengariff Group for The Detroit News and WDIV-TV in Detroit showed the Democratic challenger with a nine-point lead statewide – 48 percent to 39 percent.
Trump had narrowed the gap to five points in a similar poll taken in early September.
A breakdown of the results shows Biden with a nearly 30-point lead among seniors. That’s up 22 points since the early September poll. Adults ages 50 to 64 – who favored Trump by nearly 10 percent in early September – are now evenly split. College-educated men – who favored Trump by six percent a month ago – now favor Biden by nearly 10 points.
The poll has a margin of error of plus-minus four percent.
