Standoff Suspect Takes Plea Deal

A Marquette man involved in a standoff with police in March has accepted a plea agreement in Marquette County District Court.

28-year-old Christian Nutini was initially charged with two felonies, but he pleaded guilty to reduced charges. The charge of felonious assault was reduced to a drunk and disorderly person charge, and the count of discharging a firearm in or at a building was reduced to reckless use of a firearm. Both of these new charges are 90–day misdemeanors.

Nutini was arrested after he allegedly discharged a firearm in his home on March 24th. Police surrounded the home for five hours before they were able to talk him into surrendering peacefully.

Nutini will be sentenced on May 26th.
