A Calumet man is in the Houghton County Jail after being arrested for stabbing another man last Friday. Michigan State Police from the Calumet Post say the suspect is 26-year-old Kyle Huuki of Calumet. He’s charged with felonious assault, or assault with intent to commit great bodily harm less than murder. The charges stem from an argument outside a residence in Calument Township between Huuki and a 25-year-old Laurium man. Police say the incident escalated when Huuki went back into the house and brought out two kitchen knives. The victim was treated and released from Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital. Huuki is free on a personal recognizance bond on the condition that he has no contact with the alleged victim. His preliminary exam is scheduled for July 23rd.
