Snyder Won’t say if Courser or Gamrat Should Resign

Does Governor Rick Snyder think two state lawmakers accused of misusing taxpayer resources should resign?

He won’t say.

Snyder says he won’t comment out of respect for the hearings the House is conducting.

A special committee has been formed to determine if State Representatives Todd Courser and Cindy Gamrat should keep their jobs.

The two, who had an affair, are accused of using staffers to cover up their indiscretions and having them do political work on state time.

The committee’s next hearing is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday.

It plans to meet multiple times over the next week or two before making a final recommendation to the House.

That recommendation could be to censure the two, expel them or do nothing.
