Governor Rick Snyder is moving forward with his efforts to improve education in the state.
He’s created a 21st Century Education Commission.
The goal is to come up with new ideas on how to improve the way children are taught.
It’s a 25-member appointed commission, created through an executive order.
The governor says he wants the panel to determine which nations and which states are top performing when it comes to teaching.
He also wants to know how educational systems and demographics differ from Michigan, and how that information can be used to improved education in the state.
