Governor Rick Snyder says he’s looking into bringing some refugees from the Middle East to Michigan.
The governor told the first-ever gathering of the Michigan Commission on Middle Eastern Affairs in Lansing Tuesday he is actively looking at the refugee situation and he wants to know how Michigan can help out.
He counters any charges of refugees taking jobs, saying refugees have — in the past — made Michigan a stronger and better place, and welcoming them can create jobs.
He stops short of saying how many refugees may come to Michigan.
