Governor Rick Snyder will be in a cast for the next few weeks due to a tear in his right Achilles tendon.
Speaking Sunday during a U.S.-China auto forum at Cobo Center, Snyder said he sustained the injury Thursday after running while on vacation in Florida.
Snyder said he’ll be in the cast for six weeks, but that doctors told him he’ll hopefully be able to avoid surgery.
The Detroit News reports the 56-year-old governor is scheduled to make his annual tour of the North American International Auto Show on Tuesday and may need to use a cart to get around the floor. He got around Cobo on crutches Sunday.
