Snowmobile Accident in Calumet Township

Houghton County Sherriff’s Deputies responded to a personal injury snowmobile accident early this morning. The incident occurred in Calumet Township on DNR Trail #3 south of Copper City Road. Deputies say a 24 year old Calumet man was traveling southbound on the trail when he lost control and hit a tree. The driver was taken by ambulance to Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital where he was treated for his injuries. The Accident is till under investigation, authorities believe that speed and alcohol were both factors in the accident.
