Sherman Twp Volunteer Fire Department Receives Federal Grant

The Sherman Township Volunteer Fire Department in Keweenaw County is receiving a grant from the federal government.

The fire department has been awarded just under $25,000 from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program and the Fire Prevention and Safety Program.

The grants help fund professional training programs, update equipment and facilities, and provide new supplies to help first-responders handle hazards efficiently and effectively.
