A Sawyer man at the center of a DEA, ATF, and UPSET investigation has been arrested. UPSET detectives took the 31-year-old into custody yesterday for two counts of felony firearm possession and one count of receiving and concealing stolen property. After the arrest, detectives executed a search warrant at a residence on Invader Street in Sawyer, where additional evidence and drugs were seized. The suspect is now in the Marquette County Jail, but his name is being withheld until after he has been arraigned. The case could either stay at the local level or become a federal issue as both the Marquette County Prosecutor and the U.S. Attorney’s Office are reviewing the charges.
