While a lot of salt was put on roads in Michigan on Monday, supplies are good and costs are lower compared to last year.
Denise Donohue of the County Road Association of Michigan, says road crews in the state were well stocked with salt as they approached Monday’s storm.
She also says salt prices are down this year, with most prices in the “mid-50 dollar per ton” range.
That compares to costs last year, when some were paying up to 75-dollars per ton for road salt.
