Rumors Of New Road Funding Plan Emerge

Republican leaders in the Michigan House are reportedly working on another effort to garner new revenue for roads in Michigan.

The Gongwer News Service quotes sources who say the plan will include $600 million in new revenue and $600 million in state budget cuts.

The plan could be voted on as early as next week.

However sources tell Gongwer there are no specifics on where the new revenue, or the new cuts, would come from.

Earlier this year Michigan voters rejected a wide ranging plan that would have increased taxes to help supply new revenue for roads.
