Rotaract Making A Donation To HEET

The Rotaract Club of Houghton–Hancock will present a check for $2,800 to the Houghton County Energy Efficiency Team to the Houghton Rotary Club today.

Rotaract raised the funds at its April 10 Great Gatsby Charity Ball, which attracted more than 200 students and community members for an evening of Jazz Age music and dancing.

Rotaract, a partner of Rotary International, is geared toward young adults ages 18-30 and focuses on community service, international service and professional networking and development. The local chapter is a student organization at Michigan Tech.

HEET is dedicated to helping Houghton County residents reduce their energy bills and is competing for the $5 million Georgetown University Energy Prize.
