Governor Rick Snyder and the four legislative leaders have been huddling up this week to discuss road funding.
The governor’s office says the meetings have happened both in person and on the phone and that they’ve been constructive.
Gideon DAssandro, spokesperson for House Speaker Kevin Cotter, wouldn’t say if they’ve been constructive enough to warrant a vote when lawmakers return to Lansing next month.
He says, while they are making progress, he’s not ready to put a timeline on when a vote could happen.
DAssandro says they’re mulling over different road funding options, which includes a 15 cent gas tax increase passed by the Senate.
Lawmakers are currently on summer break.
The Senate isn’t due back in Lansing until August 11th, the House on August 18th.
