Road Funding Talks Continue

The long term financial fix for all roads around Michigan remains as unfinished business at the state Capitol. Senate GOP leader Randy Richardville has formed a six person work group that was going to meet in July but will now gather today. The top Democrat on the work group is not impressed. Minority leader Gretchen Whitmer says they should vote on the plan that was on the Senate floor earlier this summer that failed and another work group is not the solution. The two legislative leaders agree on one thing, the road revenue issue has been talked to death. However even if the work group comes up with a financial solution, the legislature will probably not vote on it until after the November election…after legislators are safely re-elected.
