Volunteers have been out in force prepping the regional mountain bike trail systems for the annual Ride the Keweenaw event coming up this weekend.
The event will start out in Greenland on Friday evening with a guided group ride through the Adventure Mine, then continue on Saturday with guided group rides at Michigan Tech, Churning Rapids and Swedetown Trails.
Also on Saturday, beginner skills clinics are offered at Michigan Tech Trails and Swedetown Trails.
On Sunday, the day kicks off with an Enduro Race as part of the Lake Superior Gravity Series.
Sunday afternoon continues with a mountain biking scavenger hunt and finishes off with a new Taste of the Harbor fundraising event for the Copper Harbor Trails featuring dishes from The Pines Restaurant, Mariner North, The Fitz, and Jamsen’s Fish Market and Bakery in the Copper Harbor Park.
There’s an event for everyone and all events are open to the public!
While the guided rides are free to attend (no registration required), participants do need to register for the skills clinics, Enduro Race, and Taste of the Harbor event (limited tickets available).
