Baby boomers are not only into retirement age, they’re also a large voting block and you see their power in public policy.
So says the new president of AARP in Michigan. Chris Holman also says there’s a new block of voters right around the corner, millennials.
Holman says that group is a little bigger and will carry with them economic power and political power because seniors do get out and vote.
As for economic power, Holman says for every $2 or $3 retirees take out of the system through social security and Medicare, they put $4 or $5 back in.
