Renewed Effort To Do Away With Daylight Savings Time

Another effort is underway to get rid of Daylight Saving Time in Michigan.

House Republican Pete Lucido of Shelby Township and House Democrat Jeff Irwin of Ann Arbor have renewed their call to get rid of the twice-yearly time shift.

They call it a failed experiment, because it promotes more car crashes, less productivity and more crankiness.

The proposal from the legislators would set Michigan on Standard Time year-round.

The bills are before a House committee and have been since last year.
