The U.P. Suicide Prevention Conference will be back for a second year on September 15th from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Ramada Inn of Marquette.
The main goal of the conference is to help identify and promote current suicide prevention efforts taking place on the local, state and federal level. People will also learn more about the topic of suicide as it relates to special groups, such as Veterans and members of the Native American/Alaska Native Community. Other topics include reducing stigma and ethical decision making.
The conference is open to all individuals who are interested in learning more about suicide prevention, but registration is required. Breakfast and lunch are included in the $30 registration fee.
Interested individuals can register by calling (906)482-9077 or contacting Megan Giacoletto by email at mgiacoletto@dialhelp.org.
