Public Hearings Set For Houghton's Budget & Capital Improvement Plan

There will be two public hearings held prior to the next meeting of the Houghton City Council on June 8th at 5:30pm.

The first will be to hear public comments on the proposed budget for the 2016/17 fiscal year, which begins July 1st.

The proposed millage for the budget is 15.0 mills.

Following the public hearing on the budget, there will be a public hearing on the Capital Improvement Plan.

Copies of both the budget and the Capital Improvement Plan are available through the city office or on their website.

At the close of the public hearings, the city council will hold their regular meeting where it is expected they will act on these items.
