Public Forums for Pelkie School Shutdown

Because of declining enrollments, Baraga Area Schools will hold three community forums to discuss the possibility of closing the Pelkie School for the 2015-16 school year. Superintendent Jennifer Lynn says the discussions within the board have been ongoing and a decision has to be made very soon on the school.

She adds that hopes community members will attend to give their opinions on a very tough decision.

The first meetings will take place at 8:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the Baraga School Library and tomorrow at the Pelkie School at 6 p.m.
