The public will get its first chance tonight to see what Hancock will look like after a major road reconstruction project.
The Michigan Department of Transportation along with OHM staff will present the plans in a public forum at 8:00pm at the Finnish American Heritage Center.
The project includes the complete reconstruct of Front Street, Reservation Street and Quincy Street from the Portage Lake Lift Bridge through downtown.
The M-26 connector ramp will also be redone as well as a full streetscape design of downtown Hancock.
At approximately $11 million, the project is financially the largest the city has ever had done.
Work is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2016.
