Public Comment Period Closing On Canadian Nuclear Waste Dump Site

Tuesday is the last day of public comment on a proposed nuclear waste site proposed in Canada.

It’s less than a mile from Lake Huron.

Congressman Dan Kildee, who opposes the plan, says there are plenty of people on both side of the lake that do too.

He says Canada pushing a final decision on the plan to the end of the year – after an election – is proof of that.

Kildee is also sponsoring legislation the U-S House designed to delay a decision so a study on the environmental impact of the waste site could be done.

People can email their concerns to ceaa.conditions.acee@eaa-acee.gc.ca.
