Protesters gathered on the University of Michigan Flint campus ahead of Sunday’s Democratic debate to call for higher wages and a fix for the Flint water crisis.
Holding signs depicting Governor Rick Snyder with red eyes and devil horns, protesters chanted “we’re fired up, can’t take it no more.”
Willie Williams was one of those demonstrators.
He says he feels betrayed because of the poisoned water in Flint and because of the difficulty of making living wage.
Williams says he wants politicians to know things have to change.
Another protester, Janette Hanley of Flint says there needs to be a solution for Flint.
She says her two kids need water to live and they can’t drink the water.
She also says she works too hard and too much and she doesn’t get paid enough.
Hanley says the minimum wage should be lifted to $15 an hour.
