Previewing Day 2 of the Courser/Gamrat Hearings

A special committee determining the fate of State Representatives Todd Courser and Cindy Gamrat will pick up where it left off today.

On Tuesday Gamrat went before the committee asking for censure, amid a tearful apology.

Today it could be Courser’s turn to testify.

He’s been invited to come before the committee but hasn’t said yes.

His attorneys say they’ll review his options before making a final decision.

The House general counsel is recommending Gamrat be censured and Courser be expelled for misusing taxpayer resources.

The House Select Committee could wrap up its work and vote on a recommendation to the full House today.

The House could then act this afternoon or Thursday.

State Representative Ed McBroom, who chairs the committee, is optimistic they will finish by the end of the week.
