Presidential Hopefuls Square Off In Michigan

Three presidential hopefuls made campaign stops in Michigan in advance of the Republican presidential debate in Detroit Thursday and the Democratic debate Sunday night in Flint.

Democrat Bernie Sanders hit the campus of Michigan State University where he addressed a standing room only crowd at the Breslin Center.

Republican John Kasich, meanwhile, talked to supporters in Grand Blanc, which is near Ann Arbor.

And fellow Republican Marco Rubio made a stump speech in Metro Detroit.

Tonight’s GOP debate, which is hosted by Fox News, will be short one candidate after Detroit-native and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson announced he’ll skip the debate.

He stopped short of saying he’s suspending his campaign and will have more to say Friday.

The Democratic debate Sunday is hosted by CNN.

Michigan’s presidential primary is Tuesday, March 8th.
