Powdered Alcohol ban in Michigan one Step Closer to Reality

Lawmakers in the Michigan House are moving towards approving a ban on powdered alcohol before the product can hit store shelves in Michigan.

Legislation doing just that cleared a House committee Wednesday and now awaits a vote in the full House.

State Representative Scott Dianda is sponsoring one of the measures and says powdered alcohol is marketed to kids, looks like Kool Aid packets and shouldn’t be available for sale in Michigan.

An identical bill has already passed the Senate.

The product is billed as a powdered form of booze that easily mixes with any beverage or can be sprinkled on food.
