Planning for the future gets scarier the older we get. But understanding and communicating what you want with your loved ones is more essential with each passing day. The Portage Lake District Library will host an advance care planning program over the next month. Volunteer coordinator Julie Beck said that waiting on making plans can cause more harm to not just yourself but your family unit.
The advance care planning program starts next Tuesday, September 14th, and will be an initial introduction to how to plan for advance care. And gauge for where participants are at in knowledge of advance care options, Beck said.
If you are interested in signing up for the program you can do so through Portage Lake District Library’s website. Just go to their programs tab and follow the list down to Julie Beck’s advance care program to sign up. Older adults are the main demographic, but beck said that everyone should start planning sooner than later.
