Three of the PHFoundation’s Pillars of Emphasis are focused on health education, health research, and emerging healthcare leaders. Reinvesting money through educational scholarships is one way the foundation believes it can uphold these pillars and positively affect the health of the region. According to Hilary Anderson, Grants Management Coordinator at the PHFoundation, “As a health-focused foundation, we strongly believe that by investing in students who seek health-science related degrees, we are also investing in the broader population who will one day benefit from these students’ educational training and expertise as they become leaders in the community.”
The Portage Health Foundation is a 501(c)3 charitable organization that receives and contributes charitable donations, which support the health needs of the community through enhanced philanthropy and community collaboration throughout Baraga, Houghton, Keweenaw, and Ontonagon counties.
