PON 25th Celebration Continues

MTU Parade of Nations 2014 LogoThe 25th anniversary celebration of the Parade of Nations and Multicultural Festival continues today with the opening of a new exhibit at the Carnegie Museum. Darnishia Slade from the International Programs and Services office at MTU says the collaboration is just one example of how the community and the university work together to make foreign students feel welcome… SLADE. The exhibit officially opens at 6:00. Bob Wenc from MTU promises a surprise… WENC. The display will be shown throughout the month. Tomorrow, Parade co-founder Betty Chavis will join a group of foreign students to talk about the history of the Parade at the Portage Lake District Library. Dr. Arun Gandhi will speak at the Rozsa Center Friday night – he’s the grandson of legendary Indian statesman Mahatma Gandhi. The Parade and Multicultural Festival will take place as usual on Saturday, and the dance troupe Step Afrika! will perform Saturday night at the Rozsa.
