Most Michigan voters would support legalizing recreational use of marijuana, according to a new poll.
The survey by Lansing-based EPIC-MRA found that 53 percent would vote “yes” on a ballot proposal to legalize and tax marijuana, 45 percent would vote “no” and two percent are undecided.
Support is up six-points from 47 percent in September 2013, the last time EPIC-MRA asked the question.
EPIC-MRA spokesman, Bernie Porn, says if the proposal on recreational use makes it to the November ballot, support could be several points higher because presidential elections have higher voter turnout.
The survey of 600 people was conducted March 19th through the 22nd.
It has an error of margin of four percentage points.
