Poll Shows Politicians Not Convincing Many That Education is a Priority

While politicians love to say that education is their top priority, a new poll shows that voters don’t believe them.

The poll, released by “Your Child,” a new advocacy group, shows 76 percent of respondents do not see our elected officials as making education a top priority.

Only 17 percent say it’s been treated as a priority.

Further, 46 percent believe legislative attention to education has declined in recent years.

Insyght Institute conducted the poll. Pollster Ed Sarpolus, who also is project director of Your Child, says it should be a wake up call for everyone to make education a priority.

The poll, conducted March 8-11 of 1,000 adults, had a margin of error of plus-or-minus 3 percentage points.
