Poll Says Most Michigander Don't Want Open Carry in Gun Free Zones

Most Michigan voters don’t think licensed gun owners should be allowed to open carry in gun free zones.

The poll by Lansing-based Epic-MRA found 69-percent oppose the open carry of a pistol in a school, college, university, daycare or early childhood center.

All are gun free areas under Michigan law. 39-percent of likely voters support open carry.

The survey also found 57-percent say a citizen with a Concealed Pistol License should not be allowed to conceal carry into those same areas. 39-percent say they should be allowed.

The statewide survey of 600 people was conducted from October 25th through 31st.

It has an error margin of four-percent.
