Plane Crash At Mackinac Island

No injuries were reported after a plane crash on Mackinac Island over the weekend.

Island police say the small plane went down Saturday afternoon at the Mackinac Island Airport as the pilot was flying back from St. Ignace.

Police blame the accident on an equipment failure when its landing gear failed to deploy, the plane skidded to a safe stop on the runway.

The airport was closed for several hours.

Officials say the plane is up and running again.
