Phone Scam Involving “Schools”

The Michigan State Police Gladstone Post has received complaints involving another phone scam. The caller, with a middle eastern accent, advises that he is calling on behalf of the local schools “Education Association” and attempts to solicit funds.

Jason Lockwood, Superintendent at Bark River-Harris Schools advised that his school has been targeted by this scam. He further advised that local school boards will not be calling to solicit funding, that they have other, more appropriate avenues to raise any needed funds.
