Peters Wants the NPS to Speed up Isle Royale Wolf Decision

U.S. Senator Gary Peters wants a faster decision on whether or not wolves need to be brought to Isle Royale to supplement a dying pack.

The National Park Service is not expected to make a final decision for two to three years.

He calls that unacceptable because the three wolves remaining on the island are not sustainable.

If they don’t survive the winter Peters wants a new wolf pack brought on to the island.

The National Park Service’s current stance has been to let nature take its course and see if the wolf population will repopulate itself.
