Kitchens will be busy throughout the Copper Country today as bakers prepare their best pasties for tomorrow’s Pastyfest.
The annual event held in Agassiz Park in Calumet features professionally baked pasties and special recipe home cooked pies.
The day begins with the Pastyfest Parade down historic 5th Street at 11:00am with festivities in the park starting at noon.
Registration for the horseshoe tournament also begins at 11:00am.
The judging of the Pasty Bake-Off will commence at 1:00pm with pasties competing for the best Traditional and Non-Tradition Commercial categories and the Individual categories of Traditional Copper Country, Traditional Cornish and Non-Traditional Pasty.
